Job Description (JD) GDA Trainer (GNM / B.Sc. Nursing) – OSDA Project Position: GDA Trainer (General Duty Assistant) Project: Odisha Skill Development Authority (OSDA) - UPASANA EDUCATION TRUST Department: Training & Skill Development Location: Bhubaneswar & Bargarh Employment Type: Full-Time Reporting To: Centre Head / Project Manager Job Summary The GDA Trainer is responsible for delivering high-quality classroom and practical training to candidates enrolled in the General Duty Assistant (GDA) course under the OSDA Skill Development Project. The trainer will ensure trainees acquire the knowledge, practical skills, professional ethics, and workplace readiness required for employment in hospitals, nursing homes, home healthcare, and other healthcare facilities. Training should be delivered in accordance with Healthcare Sector Skill Council (HSSC), NSQF, and OSDA guidelines. Key Responsibilities 1. Training Delivery Deliver theory and practical sessions as per the approved GDA curriculum. Demonstrate patient care procedures using clinical equipment and simulation labs. Conduct hands-on training in: Basic Nursing Care Patient Hygiene & Comfort Bed Making Vital Signs Monitoring Infection Prevention & Control Biomedical Waste Management Patient Mobility & Transfer First Aid & Emergency Response Nutrition & Feeding Assistance Communication & Soft Skills Ensure all sessions comply with OSDA, NSQF, and HSSC standards. 2. Student Assessment Conduct theory and practical assessments. Evaluate trainee performance. Maintain assessment records and progress reports. Provide individual mentoring and feedback. Prepare trainees for internal and external assessments/certification. 3. Documentation & Compliance Maintain: Attendance Register Daily Training Reports Session Plans Assessment Records Practical Lab Register Batch Files Placement Documentation Ensure all project documentation is updated as per OSDA requirements. 4. Practical & Industry Exposure Coordinate practical demonstrations. Organize hospital visits and On-the-Job Training (OJT). Supervise trainees during practical sessions. Ensure safe use of medical equipment. 5. Placement Support Prepare trainees for interviews. Conduct mock interviews and personality development sessions. Support placement activities. Coordinate with employers and placement teams. 6. Quality Assurance Ensure quality delivery of training. Follow Healthcare Sector Skill Council standards. Participate in audits, inspections, and monitoring visits. Update training content based on revised guidelines. Required Qualification GNM (General Nursing & Midwifery) OR B.Sc. Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing Registered Nurse (Preferred) Experience B.Sc. Nursing: Minimum 2 years of relevant clinical experience with teaching/training experience preferred. GNM: Minimum 3 years of relevant clinical experience with teaching/training experience preferred. Experience in Skill Development Projects (OSDA/DDU-GKY/PMKVY/NSDC/HSSC) will be an added advantage.
